Worthy Park Overproof White Rum | 700ML Tasting Notes
Nose: Bright and alive with ripe banana, fresh sugar cane, tropical papaya and passionfruit, and a light green-grass or cane-leaf note.
Palate: Big-flavored and full-on: banana and tropical fruit up front, cane sugar sweetness, light honey and mild brine or vegetal grit, with a clean, crisp backbone.
Finish: Warm and lingering with tropical fruit echoes (mango/papaya), peppery or grassy under-notes, and a faint metallic or cane-leaf zest. The overproof nature gives it bite and presence.
Distillery Information
Worthy Park Estate has a storied history in Jamaican sugar and rum production, with roots going back centuries. The estate cultivates sugar-cane on site, produces its own molasses and cane juice, and maintains the traditional pot-still distillation methods that give its rums their character. This white overproof expression is notable for being one of the first modern Jamaican overproof rums to blend both molasses- and cane-juice-based distillates, giving it a slightly lighter, crisper profile compared to strictly molasses-based overproofs. It is unaged (or minimally aged), allowing the raw distillate and estate profile to come through vividly. Because it’s bottled at 63 % ABV, it is typically treated either as a mix-only rum or a sipping rum with care—many fans dilute it slightly to open up its fruit-forward flavours.
