Description
The sedimentary soils of Clos Pepe, Walt’s estate vineyard, produce low-vigor vines and densely flavored fruit. Rich, expressive aromas of earth and spice lead to powerful fruit flavor, fresh acidity, dark spice, and fine-grained tannins.
COMMENTARY: The 2016 Walt Clos Pepe Pinot Noir is the biggest and the densest of the winery’s pack of Pinots. TASTING NOTES: This wine is deep, long, and endless. Pair its aromas and flavors of black fruit, berries, earth with a thick, well-marbled, grilled Porterhouse.
