Black Patch Distilling Co. only releases their bourbon into the wild when the bourbon reaches the perfect taste, look, and smell. Gary J. Cooper designed this recipe while his son was on his first combat deployment. Although his son lost his leg after being seriously wounded, he helped perfect this recipe and it has remained unchanged for over a decade.
Black Patch Distilling Co. Bourbon Whiskey Tasting Notes
Nose: Aromas of toffee and tobacco with hints of caramel and black pepper
Palate: Spicy vanilla notes mixed with strong flavors of rye toast
Finish: Long and warm finish mixing toffee and vanilla
Distillery Information
Black Patch wasn’t created to be a whiskey company; they started Black Patch to start a Whiskey Rebellion by bringing spirit making back to locally-owned producers. Master Distiller, Gary Cooper spent the time his son was deployed to perfect a whiskey to his son’s standard. He named his company after the single black patch his son’s unit wore in combat. Black Patch Distilling Company donates a portion of every bottle sold to veteran charities.
