Another tasting bottling from BenRiach’s 16th batch of single cask releases – this time, the whisky was matured in a single Oloroso sherry butt from May 2008 to 2019. Following its 10-year-long snooze, the whisky was bottled at cask strength with an outturn of 634 bottles.

Nose: Baked apricot and walnut cake with buttery vanilla, demerara sugar and ground nutmeg.
Palate: Apricot and bread and butter pudding with burnt raisins and dried fruits.
Finish: Smooth with nutmeg and walnut lingering.

The BenRiach distillery is a single malt Scotch whisky distillery in the Speyside area of Scotland. It is currently owned by Brown-Forman Corporation after being purchased on 1 June 2016 as a subsidiary from the BenRiach Distillery Company Limited, formed by two South African funding partners, Geoff Bell and Wayne Keiswetter, and Scotch whisky expert Billy Walker.
